DECEPTION and SADNESS 😢😔😔😔😢 as the long distance Quadrathlon got cancelled due to the bad water quality (swipe left to see the problem).
ANGER and INCOMPREHENSION 😤😡😡😡😤 because athletes were told so just 20 hours before the start (even though it was more than clear that the lake was in a bad condition for many days already). Many athletes travelled far more than 2000km for nothing. No #worldchamps, no #worldcup Points.
TEARS and FURY accompanied us during the sprint duathlon where the organizer Kaposvár eXtrememan113 even decided to allow drafting which was then utterly stupid as all quadrathletes had only timetrial bikes with them (start was together with the triathletes who were also only doing a #duathlon). Really sad finishline pics 😔
The only positive aspect: as we didn't put any effort in the sprint duathlon and didn't do the long one of course (had a solid training instead), we were able to start training for the upcoming sprint races already today. Unfassbar wütend sind wir!!😡😡😡 Ist es Egoismus, Ignoranz, Unwissen?😤 Wir wissen es nicht, aber selten erleben wir eine funktionierende Rettungsgasse🚒🚑🚒. Diesmal steckten die diversen Rettungsfahrzeuge schockierende 15min auf einer 800m langen Strecke fest. Zeit, die Leben kostet. Um uns herum zu 80% mittig fahrende Autos, zu zweit im Baustellenbereich nebeneinander stehende (!) LKW, die dann bei Blaulicht in Sicht weder vor noch zurück konnten.
Und JA, wir sind auch genervt im Stau, das heißt aber nicht, dass man die Rettungsgasse dann zum mittig Überholen "in Dritter Reihe" nutzen darf 😠😠😠
BITTE baut sofort eine #Rettungsgasse, präventiv (!) sobald es staut. Nicht erst, wenn das Blaulicht schon hinter Euch feststeckt.
Nach 15h Auto sind wir nun aber angekommen 🥳🥳🥳 Wo genau gibt's bald in der Story 😉
One of the struggles "behind the scenes" 🦷🥴🦷 4 weeks of pain, antibiotics and too much restdays 😖 Lisa somehow fought through the past races anyway, even winning that World Champs (how the hell was that possible?? 🙈), but when you're in pain of course you're not satisfied with the results. Starting despite all problems is definitively not commendable. #DontDoIt #NoRoleModel ...but we're all just humans 🤷🤷
Now the bad guy ist finally gone, the infection faded away and there are only a few more easy days to survive. #fingerscrossed
Here's a shout out to all our multisport friends: dare to race!!🏁🏁🏁 Have the courage to line up at that start line, even though you don't feel "fit enough". You'll never be 100% fit and ready. Training multiple disciplines means accepting compromises. 🏊🚴🛶🏃🏼♀️ On top of that, there's always a lack of training-time due to work, family or other issues. We're all only semi-professionals juggling many challenges simultaneously.
Thus, just participate and try your best. If you wait for the perfect season, you'll miss many great adventures🌄🏞️🌍 And be honest, the best thing about races is rarely only the podium finish, but rather these moments behind the scenes - good conversations, new experiences and that feeling of having achieved something, pushing (personal) limits and travelling to beautiful places, #SharingThePassion and meeting friends....to be continued 🤗
What an exciting weekend! I'm still completely overwhelmed 🤩 Finished my first #canoemarathon#worldcup in a solid pace, survived the mass-start without capsize, wasn't lapped and even managed to do at least the first portage kind of smoothly 😂
Pretty thankful for this experience and seeing all those strong ladies race definitively gave me a motivation boost to include some sprints, portages and more technique drills in my training #neverstopimproving#1000lessonslearned
Ten years ago I paddled for the first time - in a large plastic seakayak with a plastic paddle. Then three years in a stable surfski just getting miles done followed by a (wet💦😂💦) year in different (not so stable) racing kayaks. Just a few years ago the first kayak training camps followed with the first technique coachings by Danny Hallmén and Albert Corominas ...and I slowly started to include more and more intervals in my paddling routine. Last year Marlena Ahrens inspired me to just try a small german canoemarathon WSV Rheine 1932 eV ...and she taught me to use my legs while paddling 😅😅😅
First time ever that I had cramps in my fingers, forearm and abdomen, last portage was a walk-pause-walk-stop'n'go... But I'm definitely proud to have come that far. Don't think that was my last canoemarathon!! Because I know I can do better, I have to do it again 💪💪💪

Aus dem vollen Langdistanz-Training heraus sind die 27km physisch zum Glück machbar, aber der Massenstart, die 6 Portagen und das ständige Ansprinten wird eine prima Herausforderung 🤪💪#LetsGoForIt Auch die Kurzstrecke Tags zuvor wird mit nur 3,4km sicher eine spannende Sache 🚀🚀🚀
The thing about winning races 🏆is far more than just being able to hit a certain pace or power. Actually I won most races just because of coping better with adverse conditions than the others. You'll rarely get a race with perfect weather, perfect mood, perfect course, perfect nutrition, perfect what-so-ever.
Most races aren't #perfect and you can train to be able to perform at your best #DespiteAllOdds
A rainy stormy long bike ride is a perfect opportunity to practice some #mental#strategies
Step 1 #observation Observe your thoughts and feelings during a tough session. Use your phone to record some key points every five to ten minutes. You'll probably be overwhelmed by the amount of different thoughts 😉 Be honest to yourself and record ALL thoughts, not only the pleasant ones. Write them down later. ☔☔☔ Rain will help you to get to the deepest corners of your Soul 😂😉

Everybody knows you have to start easy and increase mileage slowly 📈 after having had a break. But for a passionate runner that's easier said than done 🤷🙈
It helps to not compare yourself with your former "you": put all your #records to zero mentally and delete your weekly #statistics. Throw all past numbers out of your brain (for a while) and #StartFromScratch again! It's simply nonsense to aim at your "usual" weekly goal or to directly push the pace again. You'll only get injured or frustrated again.
By doing this, week by week you can be happy about your progression and every week there's probably a "new" 😉 record 💪💪💪
